ICE was approached by Portsmouth City Council to design and install a bespoke power and lighting installation on the historic gun battery and hot walls in Old Portsmouth.
Following careful consultation with the client and a sympathetic consideration of the heritage value involved, ICE designed and installed a visually stunning lighting system that embraced the modernity of Portsmouth as a commercial port whilst presenting its beautiful heritage in a new light.
During the installation, ICE worked closely with English Heritage to ensure that the mortar used matched the original mortar used in the historic construction. ICE went to extreme lengths to achieve this, including sending samples to a laboratory for comparative analysis.
